:D
The sticker on the rear of our D1 says, "Speed kills, drive a Landrover and live longer", but of course when we are on a long road trip the capability on all sorts of surfaces the Disco's ride, traction, handling and Tdi fuel consumption are soooooo far ahead of the other "trucks", Tojo's, Nissans, Pajero's, I can understand why they bag the Disco, it comes into the category of "if you have to ask, you would not understand!
Tell 'em to suffer in their Jocks.
Sorry to hijack but I think one of the best stickers I have seen on the back of a Landy was on the sunshine coast and I nearly crashed when I read it
" At least the country that makes my 4x4 doesn't eat Whales "
I thought how very topical

Thats Gold!!!.... Definatley going to get one for the rear of the D1.... nothing like a topical statement
Mate of mine, Cruiser driver, realised he was mistakenly waiving to people driving D1s around our local town thinking it was me. When he realised the error he observed that D1s are like bums - everybody's got one. There's a good reason for that - they get the job done with a minimum of fuss.
Oh yeah, and when I went to Cape York a couple of years ago, my D1 was the tow vehicle that got another mate's Prado through the OTT.
my wife (non-driver) loves the disco i would get in the poo if i tried to sell it :o
not that i want to sell it ;)
and yep installed side steps to get her in the car.
as for other people......well what can i say i am a Morris Marina owner as well so i cant say too much, eh :D
na, that sounds about right with owning a landy.
The blokes bag you because they would like to own one but aren't brave enough. They stay main steam because it's safe, and wonder about the landy family and how happy you are.
The girls, well, the girls; if they judge you for the car you drive than a Landy is even better than I thought.
I got the Disco when my mates all had patrols, now they haveall had a drive off road, and compared fuel consumption, now they are all saving to swop over, let a tojo driver try a Disco, they get a REALLY big reality check!
