    Fog at base of windscreen inside car...leaky new windscreen?

    I just had a windscreen installed by O'briens and I'm a bit skeptical on if it was done completely properly or not because the screen itself seems to be an aftermarket different brand because it didn't have the right amount of that black stuff behind the rear view mirror and I think I got a bit of a discount on it. Also some people here said that if it wasn't the genuine article then it could be liable to leak.

    I gave it the benefit of the doubt but today, after it's been sitting in some rain all week (with no leaks detected), I took it out and it had been sitting in the sun for a while with all windows shut and I came back and noticed quite a substantial amount of condensation/fog on the inside of the windscreen down the bottom above the front screen vents, probably about three inches worth and quite wet really, looks like it had come up through the vents.

    I've never had this before even after my sunroof leaked a bit but I remember getting it all the time in a really old Ford of mine which I knew had quite a few leaks, I assume it happens because there is just moisture in the car somewhere.

    Could this be a sign of a leaky improperly installed windscreen in anybody's opinion?

    Just pulled up the front carpets...all wet again

    Trouble is I don't know if it's the windscreen's fault or still something else. It's the same kind of wet that it was the last time I found it and scratched all the surface rust off.

    Surely there can't be too many places water can be getting in. Surely it's gotta be a windscreen leak or a sunroof leak. It seemed to be all dry up the very back but almost seemed like it came down the A pillar and started getting damp there and then into the floor pan. It pretty much gets wet from the A pillar backwards.

    Talking A/C?

    Check your A/C condensate drains are not blocked.

    Hmm I'll check but the problem seems to be on both sides of the car not just the passenger side...I can't remember the last time I used my air conditioner either but you never know.

    Wink Two drains.

    There is a condensate drain tube on either side of the transmission tunnel, these tubes get blocked where they exit on the underside either side of the gearbox, the accumulated condensate just sloshes out of the A/C housing onto the tunnel sides, there is small peristaltic valves pushed into the end of the drain tubes, they clog with mud. I have had this same problem with our '98 D1 and the floors were soaked, drivers and passengers side, cleared the tubes, no more wet floors.

    Wow hmmm I'm definitely checking that out tonight...are they easy enough to find? Anyone got a pic? I'm sure I'll find them but it can't hurt to ask hey just in case someone has one on hand
