    Tyres 285 x 75 x 16 on +8 offset rims

Hi does anyone here have this combo 285 x 75 x 16 on +8 offset, they will be 8 inch rims?
What I would like to know is if they rub on full lock or do you have to adjust the steering stops?
I will have a 2 inch body lift, flares and a 2 inch suspension lift, the reason I am not going for -25mm is I am getting it engineered and cannot go over 50mm in track width, so +8 offset is the max offset from a standard +30 rim.
And yes I will be doing up the drive train as well, its a 95 V8 auto.
Any help (pics) or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers, Peter

I'm running 275/70/16's on standard rims, to get it to the point where it doesn't rub it now has the turning circle of the titanic. I like the extra ground clearance but reduced turning circle is not good

When I get my tax back I will be getting offset rims not exactly sure how much that will depend upon taking to the manufacturers

The +8mm offset should work, as the original ones are +33 so you should have 25mm more clearance on the inside, That's what I am going to try, as it is the maximum legal offset you can have.
275/70/16's on standard 7 inch steel rims +33 are moving the tyre 35mm more to the inside, This combo 285 x 75 x 16 X 8 inch rim with a +8 offset should be moving the tyre inside by 28mm, from a standard 7 inch steel rim with a +33.
I measured mine (standard) on full lock on level ground and there is 45mm clearance on the inside at the RADIUS ARMS at ride height, so theoretically I should have 17mm clearance with the combo I would like. Is there anything closer than the radius arm, as my back is bad and I couldn't stay down any longer to have a good look around.
    Cheers Peter

The steel rims are 7 inch and the alloys are 7 inch, I am not sure of the alloy offset though, I would assume it would be the same.
275/70/16's on standard steel rims +33 move the tyre in by 35mm I thought that would have cleared as when (standard) on full lock on level ground, there is 45mm clearance on the inside at the RADIUS ARMS at ride height, I haven't measured on compression or flex as yet I must do that.

My steel ones are 7" as well not 6" defender steeliness are 6" I believe but probably wrong.

Actually I was wondering if the off set was different?

That's interesting My 95 V8 has standard steel rims and they are 6 inch with +33 offset
Yours may well be a different offset then?

Blitz you are right, the standard rim is 7 inch, my workshop manual is wrong (it said it is a 6 inch Rim on the Disco ) I went out and looked on my rim to check and it is a 7 inch, I should have looked and not trusted the book.
I have changed the numbers to reflect the true clearances now with the right 7 inch rim.
    Cheers Peter
