Someone has done one in Auscam.

    Another vote for "Sahara Dust".

If you were in the same position, what colour would you choose for a pre-update disco?
I know this doesn't really answer your question but this is a Photoshop mock up of my plans for next summer. Couldn't resist.

I think the two Rossignol colours were the pick of the D1's

Interestingly enough, my colour didn't appear against the Discoveries around the years mine was built. The colour is montpellier and I could only find it as a Rangie colour.

at the moment, i'm choosing between keswick green and a grey of some sort, bonatti grey is great but metallic unfortunately

my paint supplier needs a 'colour plate' to match the paint colours, they wont work from land rover codes, so it may be difficult to get an exact match, unless anyone knows where I can find a colour chip booklet, I know land rover dealerships used to have brochures with the paint colours in the back, but i'm not sure now.

I'll go against the trend - NOT SAHARA DUST! That's the colour of mine and I hate it.... It is the only thing I don't like about my Classic.

I'll be painting mine something like Alveston Red in a non metallic, but that is a newer colour, not older.

    Just my 2 cents...

Oh, and my mates paint shop can do the paint by the LR codes, they're all on computer these days, so not sure why your paint place can't do it. The paint scales are hooked directly to the PC so it even does a blow by blow description, with pics about how to mix the batch and if you accidentally add too much of a tint...
