    Angry D1 300tdi pas

    Hi ,I have just replaced my pas with a new item and after putting it all back; it is very difficult to turn the steering wheel.I filled it with new oil and cracked the bleeder till oil emerged and then did it up. It spued out the lid . It is still difficult to turn the wheel.Is there still an air pocket in there ya think . Tomorrow I will put the front wheels up of the ground and turn the wheels full lock and see if it helps, I,m close to putting the old one back on again I'm knacked,thanks in advance.

    Yes loan rangie.I took it for a drive and still no assist.Will check again early in the morning and if no go I rip it off again.

    did you remove all the port packing from the pump and prime it before putting it in place?

    if not, its screwed now.

    to check.

    Remove the pump outlet hose from the steering box and turn the pump by hand in the normal DOR if you get no flow the problem is between the reservoir and the pump.

    If you've replaced the powersteering box whats most likely happened is you have pumped all the oil from the reservoir into the box and now the reservoir is empty.

    you wouldn't believe it. It was a cap that was on the low pressure and had forced it up the hose to the cup .Working in the dark yesterday.Have got a leak in the high pressure line to box where it joins the pas.Might need a new line .Thanks

    No worries dave.Trying to get a pump to box line,seems the old pump is different to the new original and wont screw on to pump end,so a new line is unavoidable or the line is not original.thanks. Luv all the oil that sprayed out just as everything was going good.4th time should fix it.Off to kick a cat.

    Disregard, aparrently Deefa likes the taste of hyd fluid and has used the flexi section of it as a chew toy.
