    Unhappy 95 D1 3.9 V8 drops all power @1600 revs.

The problem started a while back.. Half fixed and now it's back again..
When gently accelerating as the taco passes about 1600 rpm the power completely goes from the car for a brief second..then returns with a violent jerk... It bounces around a few times till u push the pedal fully in and the revs shoot up...I've replaced the coil.. Rotor button.. Cleaned step up motor...

Any other ideas???? It's starting to really annoy me...

Check the vacuum lines going to the fuel pressure reg.(FPR) to the stepper motor body, make sure they are on and not split or any fuel in them, also check stepper motor body is tightly attached to the plenum by the 3 allen bolts. If there is fuel in the lines the FPR is stuffed, check all vacuum lines for sealing, the amp on the dissy/coil could be the problem, check MAF plug is tight and pins clean, I could go on, but I'll let you check this lot out first, good luck, Regards Frank.

My experience suggests that a faulty TPS will do this.
Where there is a gap in the resistor , the ECU gets an out of spec signal and often stops, you put your foot down to compensate and the TPS goes to a good spot.

Ive had a disco 1 3.9 for only 12 months now that had a problem like that at speed, missing, stalling ,eratic sparking , idle up and down you name it .A workshop could not not find the trouble as they checked everything, dizzy, amp, air leaks, plugs, coil??? In the end i played with the air gap and replaced pickup coil although the old one was in spec and she run fine noww.. lots of trouble getting there!
