Mate all autos are dying from the moment they are born.
There will be "some" clutch material every time you do an oil change.
Its the orange/brown slushy stuff in the sump.
But a little bit is normal, a lot ( or lumps) is a problem.
It sounds like the governor is sticking while cold in the poster's car, which is due to stuff going through the filter and clogging it.
This is normally due to infrequent or no oil changes since new, and once it gets to that stage a reconditioned one is the best answer.
If you look on Ashcroft's site he says that.
I am not sure whether the transmission is the same V8 to diesel but I think there are several differences in bellhousing, torque converter stall, and valving , and this makes it a no go.
