    Fitting Temperature Gauge

I am about to fit a VDO temperature gauge to my 300tdi Disco. I have read everything I can but I often find that in the end I have read so much that the obvious answer becomes obscured!

Just to clarify.... Where is the best place to fit the sensor for the gauge? I have figured out that on the engine is a good start but ....
Is the 1/8 27 NPT the correct thread size?

    Thanks

Correct thread for replacement of the factory water temp sender. The VDO mechanical gauge comes with this sender thread and is a straight swap in the thermostat housing.

Many years ago ago I needed an email address in a hurry and on my desk a magazine was open to what I seem to remember was a Vodka ad. Emblazoned across the top of the page was the all in one word..sobloodyobvious. Never intended for it to be a long term thing so used it. 20 yrs on it still has a use!
