    Considering 33x12.5x15 MT

I know this topic has been brought up a lot but here goes again.
I have a 2 suspension inch lift, -25 offset sunraysia wheels, adjustable front panhard, and am willing to get flares.
Has anyone else done the same successfully?
Before I go spending big dollars on tyres. Cheers

Has been done lots of times previously, you already have the lift and flares sorted so if you plan on running 33's all the time you will most likely want to change gearing to 4.11 and upgrade the axles.
I personally wouldnt go that wide but since you already have the 15" rims i'm not sure what others sizes give you a 33 on a 15" rim that is narrower.

    Hi Blake,

Loads of people have done the same mods as you are gearing up to do.

For your reference, you should read the post on the Disco 1 Forum on page 61... Some good advice and names of some good LR aftermarket suppliers are included.

I would create a link for this but I have no idea how lol.

I have 33's Micky T's on my Disco however they are on 16 inch Rims. They were fitted after my 2 inch Suspension lift and I had more clearance issues with the front arches than the rear arches. You WILL have issues on near full lock and you will have to cut a substantial amount of panel out when you fit the flare kit. Take your time, be tidy and don't forget to paint any bare metal when your done. I have fitted a 2 inch body lift now and have never scraped anything, even at full lock and articulation.. Thoroughly recommended and readily available from Les Richmond Automotives. (Quality kit too)

Loan Rangie is on the money with ratio changes. The car will be a bit more sluggish and the speedo will UNDER READ... Also, keep in mind that your have bigger hoofs on and you will notice an immediate reduction in braking ability.

    Good luck!

I've done all the geometry measurements with the suspension and the amount of flex I will have. definitely going to have to do some trimming at the front and adjust the panhard a bit. not to worried about the diff ratios for now.
thanks heaps fellas its put my mind at ease
ill have bfg mt's under my guards soon enough

After having 12.5 and 10.5 I would go the 10.5 inch tyres. They work much better in greasy conditions

Why spend big money on tyres when you can get Nan Kang 33x12.5x15 Mudstars for under $200 ea..
I just bought another set, my originals were bought 7 years ago and probably still have a years life left in them, clocked up about 70 to 80 thousand K's, bit noisy on road, superb off-road, check out their web-site, Regards Frank.

Has anyone with these size tyres fitted steel braided brake lines and if so has it improved your braking ability? I have 33 x 12.5 x 15 bf goodrich mudterrains and trying to increase my stopping power.

The improvement would be minimal regardless of the tyres you run, vented discs and matching calipers would be a better upgrade - i believe these come off a Defender and is a bolt on job.

Braided lines make a huge difference, one of the first brake upgrades I do, then followed by what loanrangie has said (defender brakes).

I'm running 33s on -25 rims with flexi flares, extended bumpstops and cranked trailing arms and it works great, I've got a 3inch lift with flexi coils and pro comp long travel shocks(10in on the front and 12 on the back), I slotted the swivels and fitted everything myself which kept the cost down. The back end flex's really well but I'm probably going the lower the front shock mounts as I'm not using the full travel of the shocks due to the extended bumpstops.
I've changed the ratio's to 4.11s which made a huge difference to the way it drives and its also got braided lines which help heaps once the brakes are warm, there useless when there cold!!
Your really going to need the stronger axles and C'Vs to have any confidence in the vehicle off road and even doing things the cheap way I've still spent TWICE the original purchase price(7k) of the D1 on mods,
Once you pop you cant stop!! its a long road but worth it in my opinion
