    Drivers window problem

I Have a strange problem with the drivers (power) window.
Operation seems to be dependent on ambient temperature.
In the cool of morning all windows work normally, except the drivers.
By the time the ambient temp is about 20 or if ti sits in the sun for a while
    it works normally?
This has been the case for several months.

    Any ideas?

    thanks

This will most likely sound pretty obvious but it may help, sounds like "something" is expanding in the heat and causing a wire or connection to no longer.....Connect.

My first option would be to get a multimeter out and measure the circuit both warm and cold and see if there is a difference? while doing this maybe dont drive it in between measurements so as not to move connections around either. If its consistent power going through both hot an cold might be the window motor.

Im no Wizz but this should be a start for you.

    Thanks Vanderz
I should also add that I have established that it is not the console switches as I swapped them about and the fault always stayed with the drivers window.
I have the door skin off so I'll have a look about for something unusual and try your suggestion.
I was hoping that it was an old and known D1 quirk but apparently not.

Is it possible that the problem is located in the window ecu behind the glove box?
I am planning to get this looked at by an auto leccy..but dont want cost to blow out.

Just to update the picture _ i have established that the window will always go up...but will only go down in warm weather.

Common for the regulator to break a roller in the channel
cause little or no movement, and 99% the drivers side
