The second part of your question, to remove my roof lining took about 1-2 hrs my difficulty was the false floor over the gas cylinders made it awkward ..I'd never done it before so I took it easy. I then laid it on two saw horses pulled off the cloth and wire brushed the perished foam binder ..then painted it with primer sealer under coat ...psu ...and brushed on colour matched suede finish water based paint, all up cost $17.00 only a true Landy owner might pick that it's no original

Ditto for removal time of head lining, and Gary S11 nice job, I did the same to mine a while back, only painted it matt black (harking back to my miss spent youth and EH Holdens). That stupid original head lining material will never fall upon a head again and it looks reasonably acceptable.
Ozscott, are you sure your water leak is not a rusted seam in the ventilator scuttle panels, or another body leak, the windscreen bonding is usually good for the life of the screen.

It's dam near impossible to get the rubbers off without warping them as they fit onto the side of the screen. As for the windscreen be very carefull but a fine wire ie: guitar wire get 1 end hot ( really hot ) poke it between the bonded rubber and screen and work you way very carefully around the screen. Best done with 2 people, you basically cut the screen from the rubber then clean up and use sika windscreen mastic. Let it cure and bobs your uncle. Worked a treat on my 95 disco. I got some rubber stripping from Clark rubber, used the sika to attach to screen and frame no more water sitting behind. Only a disco owner would tell it's not original

I've just had my windscreen resealed & it cost me $145.00, which I thought was pretty good considering the mucking around that would be required to do it myself. Old mate said that the bead of sealant that was there was quite thin & reckons that on the Disco's it's best to apply plenty of sealant. You can reuse the existing rubber trims if they are not too shabby, although the A-post trims have an adhesive strip on the inside. The repairer had to reuse the top & bottom trims on mine as the ones I had flown in from England got damaged in transit.

i did the same job on mine few months back. I bought new rubber (non original) beforehand, the guy who did the windscreen for me said i could've used the old ones. he showed me, pulled them off without warping. but as i said i had already bought new ones so just used them. looks nice with the non faded seals.

i will look for the link to my thread and post it here for you. if you want the number of the guy that did it for me give me a PM.

if it is leaking that bad chances are you could have rust around the windscreen frame and also on the foot well. i would lift the carpet up a bit and check. mine had a very sneaky leak on the top of the windscreen that would work it's way down the side and onto the floot. i have big rubber mats on the floor though, so stopped the water from seeping through carpet.
