It's quite clear that you try and press your opinion, that an auto has a superior off road ability to a manual, on the forum, what you neglect to acknowledge, is what I first pointed out; it depends specifically on personal preference, user ability, and environment, there is no one size fits all transmission, as Land Rovers don't have double clutch automated manuals available. A manual may not suit you, for whatever reason, I won't make assumptions about your driving ability, but for me and many others, a manual is a far, far better option, it helps when you know how to handle a manual box :p
I'll stand by the statement that a decent driver can get so much more out of a manual than an auto, the reason so many people choose auto's is that they simple can't drive well. For rock crawling with big horsies, go auto, the power is available for the auto to soak up, for an all rounder a manual is far superior IMO.
For the record, I'm not telling anyone that has an auto to get a manual, they both have their merits.
Cheers
