    Transfer box woes - '96 v8 auto

    Hey guys,
    Have noticed a nice crack in an inspection or access plate on the passenger side of my transfer box. It goes in high and low range fine but will not lock. Is rebuilding the way to go? Or does a defender transfer fit in? just fitted aggressive 33s to her and would like to sort the transfer out so it can handle it. Will get a piccy up after work, thanks in advance for the advise, i am willing to rebuld with chromoly gears or whatever to make it tough.

    Look on the ashcroft website for all the answers on what makes a good transfer case, have a drool, then check your budget and purchase a second hand disco t/case.

    Had a look.. Whats it gonna cost me in our money its 500pounds before transporting.. Ive called a few diff specialists in the local area and a few will rebuild me something for a few grand. Whats a replacement one worth?

    Is the transfer case different in a V8 - TDi or Auto - Manual ??

    Indeed they are all the same in the disco 1,

    Can anyone recommend the way to go? Ratios etc for running 33's? ... and 35s down the track. surely someone on here has done this?
    If possible id like to change low and high ratios. i would also like to change to part time... Just asking for advise as i have no idea with landrovers, im slowly learning though
