Attached is a couple of pictures from the Landrover parts site, there are 2 different part numbers for the housings depending on your VIN No, does anyone know what the physical difference is, the reason I ask is myDisco is a 93 model and at some stage in its past it has had both front and rear housings changed and earlier ones were used, I knoe this because of the types of axles and bearings In itwhen I pulled them apart they are the earlier type rrc and D1 92 mod mushroom type, my VIN No says there supposed to be axles with flanges and a dustcap.
My rear axle housing sits about half inch further to one side so one wheel potrudes and the other does not prob why someone previous has put packing washers between the fulcrum and aframe in an attemt to mover it over as well (see 3rd pic), im wondering if there is a slight difference in the position of the aframe balljoint mount between 91-92 and 93 as thiscould be the reason, I have cross checked all the part numbers across the models and the only ones that are different are the housings and the fulcrum bracket.
Fyi, I do at some stage want to replace them with the correct ones or do a 24 spline upgrade.
interesting that you have this issue. I also do, on my 98. mine is more evident though. I believe my issue is the upper trailing arm mounts to frame are bent.
Ok I got under and had a gootd look and to me the A frame to chasdis bushes look flogged out, the angke on one of them coincides with the axle misalignment, im picking up new ones tomorrow as well as a ball joint lets see if that fixes it
