If you want a tourer go for a 5 door as the 3 doors are apain in the butt to access where the back seats are.
I found that mine is easiest to access back seats from passenger side.... The seat moves up further and my 16 yo daughter has no dramas getting in and out from that side... Drivers side is a tight squeeze....

Well I still have not be able to go check it out ( got sent away on work :( ) but I did have alook at add again and the vin was listed this time and it says it 96 model now here the vin SALLJGBF7MA121908 I looked it up and says it was made in 1995 I think.
Note also that the 4-doors have larger rear wheel arches if you want to go bigger with tyres. The 2-doors require more 'tweaking' to make anything bigger than a 245/70R16 fit. Other than that there's not much in it. A mate of mine has a 4-dr, mine's a 2-dr.

Seems strange that more work is required to fit larger rubber on the 2 door being no doors in the way and the 4 door requires cutting of the doors and whatnot.Quote:

Not necessarily more work, but the wheel arches are smaller in that there is less room around the leading edge of the rear guards (ie towards the front of the car). Bigger tyres will rub on a 2dr before they will on a 4dr, however trimming the guard is inherently easier as there's no door there, just a cavity.
The only tweek done to my 3 door is apiece of the rear guard (25mm to 0mm at the protection strip) cut to fit 235/85r 16 bighorns on ROH rims. Not much tweaking realy.Quote:

Are the rear seats in a 2 door interchangeable with the rear seats in a 4 door?
Are the seat belt mechanisms also identical?
thanks - Im considering buying a 2 door and it has no rear seats in it - a RWC issue for sure.
