True.... The leak is not that bad I guess but it is dripping on to the Front Diff and the "Do-nut" as well and I'm concerned as to what effect the oil will have on the Rubber. I noticed that the Rubber on the Steering Dampener has deteriorated to the point it needs replacing. I'm unsure if this was just from old wear & tear or whether the oil has stuffed it.
I don't want the Do-nut to start fall apart...... but I guess also the underneath is getting a nice coating of oil for rust proofing :)
This method , rocking on cyl 1 , has just found you TDC on 4 or TDC exhaust stroke on 1, either way the crank is in the same spot . You need to rock on 4 to get TDC no 1, very important when fitting/timing fuel pumps or distributors , ever herd the expression 180 degs out when fitting a dissy , (that's what would happen if using the above method )
I ordered one this morning from EBay. It's a 32mm thin spanner with a slight offset. Appears that a lot of the fan clutches are 32mm as the spanners are advertised for various makes, but all appear to be much the same. Was thinking about making one up from some 1/8" plate, but for $26.00 (all up) to my post office, it's hardly worth the mucking around.
Rob.
I grabbed a cheap 32mm spanner from Supercrap and ground it down on the bench grinder till it was thin enough to fit.
