Most likely an error on my part mate, power isolation.. probably should've done that first... I've had no running problems since replacing the fuse

Fair enough. If you had found something its always good to note weak points.

You could have always told your wife you knew the fuse was blown all along, but were looking for the cause as that's a much more complex issue!

By the way, my left tail light fuse also blew recently, but the cause was a pinched and shorted wire on the tailgate of my trailer - you can look and look on the car but it might not even be there.
