I decided to be safe and stick with what others have used . I ordered 265/75/16 (32") tyres and 16x7 -25mm offset Steel rims.
I have heard that 285/75/162 (33's) will fit but you have to extend the suspension bump stops But these also cause a higher risk of breaking drive shafts.
33's would kill your gearing , 32's do as well but 33 is pushing it.

Over the weekend.
Finally got the head back after waiting 4 weeks to get valve seats machined (should not be necessary on a brand new head, but that is a story on its own)
Built the head up and fitted it to the motor
Got as far as installing and adjusting the rockers before family commitments stopped me.
Hopefully i'll get it running sometime this weekend.

Replaced faulty light/indicator switch. I can now drive at night AND see the telltale indicator light on the dash!!

Since Milford wont sell me the few parts i need i made up my own, also modified my barrier by removing the mesh below seat height and welded in some horizontal tubes to brace it.

Head back on engine, no more combustion pressure cross flow between cyl 1 & 2.
Found the remnants of a drill bit inside the NEW fuel spill rail during assembly, that was mildly amusing.
Now I have a really bad knocking sound at high revs. I wonder which other part I was supplied with is dodgy now. ****ing sick of this machine.
Had the Duck's ARB steps fitted today:cool: Now I can reach the roof basket!
