Started the process of mothballing mine. It needs a timing belt and a fairly big service, but I will be away and not needing the car until the first of July. In the interim I will drive my V8 D1.

Yesterday I put new radiator hoses, coolant and power steering pipes in the Disco. In the process I discovered that I need a throttle bush and o ring on the injector pump. This morning I went out to find a drip of coolant coming from the car. I now have a better understanding of where the P gasket goes. I actually have a new P gasket and water pump gasket. Now tossing up whether to do the timing belt whilst I am there. Does it ever end?

I'm not sure it ever ends. Some days I question why but then I drive the D1 and it is all good. At the end of the day I look at how my D1 was when I bought it and how it is now and have I made a difference to it?
Which reminds me I must get to my next project :)
Looked into that but needs to go behind the bar between the bar and grille out of the drivers line of sight too. Im replacing the bent factory rear bar with a stronger aftermarket one in a few months. May be able to get a swing away mount fabricated for the jack.

So I just fitted 50mm coil spacers that where given to me by a friend. Im fitting these to try and remove the tyre rub that i got from fitting bigger tyres with an incorrectly labeled spring and shock lift kit i purchased. Be warned some people are advertising Medium Duty Tough Dog springs and shocks as a 50mm kit. When in fact tough dog sells these kits as a 30mm lift and this is not big enough to fit 265/75/16 tyres.

I also got my hand on what i think is called "Pinch Weld" To clean up my chopped guards in some places. I will also refit the seal when i get around to it. Heres some photos! :)

I fiited engineered steel 50mm coil spacers as I liked the compliant ride if the original coils. Though after researching tyre size increase rules I wont be going to 33s any time soon :-/

Finally found the source of my knocking at high rpm. Sticking actuator on the turbo.
As soon as boost picked up and more fuel was delivered it would over fuel, blow smoke and knock.
That one had me well and truely stumped for a bit.

That's true I guess. I think I am just very frustrated that it rained so much over Easter. I had planned to do a few things and really only got to half do a couple of things.
But yes, it has all the brake components new or reconditioned, new radiator hoses and coolant, new power steering pipes, filters and gearbox/engine oill digital temp guage and buzzer, bullbar with driving lights and LED light bar etc. Just wish I had more time on my hands. Another week or so to work on it and it will be ready to go just about anywhere.
Once I get it to that stage, then I will be a lot happier.
