Yea the discos have a habbit of getting bogged.
Im sure it has nothing to do with the 2 wheel drive standard setup!!
I rely on mates in Toyotas to pull me out when i get bogged which is all the time.
    Damn 2 wheel drive discos!!

I've been bogged twice in my disco. Once got rescued by another disco and another time by a shovel and some treds. I find it very capable off-road. Not sure why you don't think so. I've been to some pretty extreme places with it.

I've driven plenty of toyotas and some nissan and okas. I find the disco nicer to drive and just as capable. With diff lockers it would be amazing.

If your following jacked up twin locked jappers on 35`s no wonder why you should have the similar diff clearence on 33" tyres

Sure if you put lockers in then its comparable.
However in its stock form if im not mistaken discos have single wheel diffs.
    Most other 4x4s have LSDs.
    Disco = 2 wheels.

I get muddy almost every day. I hunt for hard places to drive so yea im gunna get bogged a lot regardless.

    As to clearance etc.
I am running 33s. my mate in his Patrol is running slightly smaller (around 32s).
My mate in his Toyota is running pretty much stockies with lift.

When traction is not an issue yea the disco does ok.
But when you need every bit of traction im afraid the disco just runs short.
Lockers are the only way to fix the problem.

    lol yep.
3 diffs working and 2 wheels turning.

All the CDL does is make the front and back wheels turn at the same rate.
It has nothing to do with the fact the front and rear are single spinners man.

Something is not right with your disco. My D1 only had a lift and open diffs and the places it went amazed me. Have a look in the members ride section and you will see plenty of pics of where my D1 took me. I had a good set of muddies for the slippery stuff down here on the VIC tracks. Not much really stopped it except clearance on the tougher stuff. If you have problems keeping up with a Toyota then you definitely need to find out what's going on! You should be driving straight past them.

    I simply dont agree.
My mate in his cruiser has almost the same power to my car.
Basically the same clearance as me.
He has LSD diffs and i dont. Which means he has more wheels turning than i do.
    That simple.
More wheels turning means more traction.
I have crossed my car up many times in ruts. 2 wheels off the ground and the other 2 do bugger all.

Cruiser in the same situation will keep pulling with the other 2 wheels all be it only a % of.
If i put LSDs in my car or lockers then i would agree with you.
Mate your not that far away from me.
Come down the valley some day and we (me, you, my mate in his cruiser) will go for a drive and see.
