Thread: What did you do with or to your Disco today

Still chasing a noise i assumed was worn pads which i replaced but noise still there, decided it was a rh front bearing i got a hub with good bearings at wreckers and now no more noise.
Good score from wreckers , got reco rad with shroud , down pipe with new flexi section, trans cooler lines , good cup holder , new pads , hub and watts link for wifes pulsar.

OK Replaced the Pickup coil Thanks to Discopete :-)
After a month of sitting in the driveway Princess Phiona AKA D1 is running again YAY.

Now for A New Windscreen and tyres and we are good to Go.

Makes a Great Companion to my Range Rover ( Dora ) AKA Dora The Explorer LOL.

this. but not just today. for the last 2 months +. but finally over. almost.

At the end of Butcher track I noticed an audible bang when suspension had to work hard. Pulled over and notice my drivers side rear coil had popped out. Jacked the D1 up at Macalistair Springs car park and wedged it back it. Bang still there. Noticed the rear sway bar had been pushed forward and was banging on the bottom coil mount. Removed said sway bar. Home now and no more bang. Got out of Butchers with one lost mud flap, a popped coil and a stuffed rear sway bar. All and all pretty successful given the absolute hammering it got.

Started Saturday and just finished now , running cool and quiet so far touch wood .

replaced head and gasket
replaced tensioner bearing
replaced down pipe
replaced oil thermostat o-ring
replaced coolant tank
replaced radiator

Seems i may have damaged the turbo oil return line pulling the manifold away from the head , smoke coming out from behind the turbo and a cloud when i boot it.

yea i think mine has an exhaust leak. has a bit of a vw sound. more subtle though. definately leaking a bit at EGT too. you can see the black soot coming out of compression joint. had a feeling the exhaust would cause me issues.

My flexi joint had a split half way around, so much quieter with the new (old) one on, just gotta find the reason for my smoke cloud.
Wasnt there before so must be something i did possibly boost pipe from inj pump to turbo.
