True, driver fault for sure .

But it was drained dead flat....not even a glow from the dash lights. From my experiance, they never seem to come back the same from dead flat.

    Hi folks.
A bit late in coming(but been busy, breaking stuff).

A few days ago, fitted my old Nardi steering wheel, and made brackets up for the cruise control pad and remote radio control thingy.

    pics(hopefully!)

I've had this old Nardi wheel since about 1990.
Have a couple of other wheels too, but this one fitted nicest.

other thing I had to fit was the dual USB charger port. Needed 2.1a x 2 to charge large phone and tablet(running OziExplorer)
Cheap-ish ebay dual USB + volt meter.
Pulled it out of it's casing and modded(rough cut and shut) one of the blank switches on the three switch panel.
(note I've switched the switch panel and ashtray around too).

ordered a set of gauges to keep an eye on important stuff too, so have to find time to fit it all when it all arrives .. but!
.... i need to sort out the grinding noises emanating from the transfer case that started a couple of days ago

Yep. Go a bit further away from the city bs, bit iof ground, suit me fine. The boss doesn't see the need for the ground, but I tell her that it would mean I could put the shed out of sight of the house. Might work....

BTW, there's a little church at St Helena. Surrounded by houses and a school these days, used to be nothing but bush. My brother and my old man are in the ground there. Dunno why I said that, but there it is. Used to be a long way.

Depends on the battery. The old ones you couldn't lift would recover. Lots these days seem to struggle. I left the key on acc in the stupid ford and the thing was dead after about the same two hours, but I can leave heaps of stuff on in the D2 and it's fine, but that's a yellow top Optima.

Supercharge (NS70??), that came to me second hand from autosparky mate about 4 yrs ago. Was drained flat from a faulty alternator in the forklift it was in, and replaced. So not a bad run i guess.

I seem to be experiencing increased fuel consumption lately. No decrease in power and nothing else seems amiss but the past two tanks have seen me using a a fair bit more fuel for what has been solely highway driving. I use to see about 800km to a tank lately it's been closer to 5-600km. Any thoughts on why this might be? It's got new, clean filters, and doesn't appear to be leaking fuel from anywhere.

    Checked your oil level lately?
Leaky injector seals can lead to dilution of the oil which can also lead to motor uncontrollably over revving, often with possibility of disastrous results.
