Drove from one end of sydney to the other then from sydney to port. When we got to port we set out to fix the fuel sender and then gave it a wash. Too easy. Pretty chilled day out.
Removed my radiator ( again ) and dropped it off at the old mans to take to shop for rodding, cleaning and testing.

ordered seals - so 3:30pm I will have the cargo seals and a weekend project to replace them. Hoping to not find much rust under the old seals![]()
Also wiring in AMP and SUB this weekend - making a box to house the sub in to one of the fold up seat area's in the back with said seat pulled outAlso looks like I could do 6x9's in the back with out too much drama
Made a custom winch cradle for my odd ball winch. So will be fitting cradle/winch soon. Just got work out how to lift it into position as it is fairly heavy.

At Naracoorte looking after some of the grandies while DIL has Achilles tendon repaired in Adelaide. Replaced dud fan hub bearing on their 96 D1 tdi. Thank god for John Deere's dealer network and a mate of a mate with an old EL Falcon, now missing the water pump! And the good mate network for the press.
And, the seal pack on the steering box sector shaft was extracted and replaced.
Blood from finger (idiot effort) and blood from head where circlip pliers were affected by gravity.
All in all, I'm pleased. Much more stuff to do.

belated from yesterday![]()
Turfed out some rails I found bolted in to the back - also through the wheel wells :/
Tracking down some water I figured was coming in via the window seal for the cargo back window - got new seals Friday and cut the drivers side out yesterday - found the sill for the window in great nic - no rust there... fitted new seal on to the window (Tip DO NOT use soapy water!) got the window back in the car fairly easy. Cleaned up all good. Rain came a little later - checked and found.... a pool of water - WTF!
Turns out its coming in from a small crack in the roof sill at the rear - water is pooling in the roof rack channel and not draining out. Awesome.
Explains why the rust is in the channel above the window as well.
So today I drilled some small holes in the channel to allow the water to drain and fixing said crack. Lifted the rear plastic strip at the rear door to see how much rust under that on the floor - hardly any - fixed up what was there and painted it.
Next weekend is the Alpine window sealsRight after Friday when the suspension from my rangie gets bolted up to the disco - same with the Maxi Drive axles too

Bloody 35's They then bury the foot and dig ruts that stuff it up for anybody else. I come along and sit on my pumpkins with my wheels inches off the ground. And then they moan when the tracks get closed. Used to be you could go almost anywhere on Jeep Service ( bar tread ) tyres, well, except maybe sand. Now it's all 'monster trucks'.
Glad the trip went well.

Funny thing about that - on my RRC having 265x75x16 tires gave me the same clearance of a nissan GU on 35" boots.
I also figured out that the wheel base when compared to the Nissan and 80 series land cruisers is shorter - so most things they have issues with I never did![]()
Dropped my spare TDI head off to be skimmed, getting back tomorrow so hopefully my gasket issues should be behind me - touch wood.
