the fact you have starting issues and loose handbrake may be related. the gurus can chime in here but i know sometimes the handbrake cable becomes your earth wire and gets very hot and can cause fires if your real earth is dirty, damaged, not earthing properly. I am not sure the exact cause but have seen some posts. possibly the cable has got hot which is why its loose now.
I may be way off but the two things stood out to me straight away.
check that your battery cables are all good too.
Fuel pump in and working $547 later. But on positive note new light bar fitted and wired in.

Washed it!
Now there's a squeaking idler - I knew no good deed would go unpunished!
Just have to remember where I put the new idler bearings, (I put them somewhere they'd be safe...........)

Mine came home on the back of a tilt tray today, first time in 3 years of ownership.
Aux battery hadn't been holding charge so took it back to get it checked out and after removing it couldn't get it started.
I have modified the ignition wiring after fitting a Scorcher dizzy and it runs around the front of the aux battery round to the top of the lhs inner guard where I have the coil mounted so assumed that this has got disturbed some how. Spent a lot of time checking that out then checked spark and was fine.
I put a new fuel pump in a couple of weeks ago so checked the voltage at the pump and it was only around 5v.
Called racq and the bloke checked everything, confirmed there was no fuel getting through and that there was not enough voltage at the pump. He reckoned that when he checked the -ve feed to the pump that it was pulsing.
Looks like I've got a few things to look into tomorrow. It's just too much of a coincidence to me that it happened after removing the aux battery and maybe disturbing the ign wiring, but also haven't done that many kms since replacing the fuel pump. I didn't replace the whole unit, just bought a pump and fitted it into the carrier assembly, so maybe I have stuffed something there.
Will start with running 12v directly to the pump, see what happens and take it from there.
So glad I have racq ultimate. Got towed from Rocklea to Kippa Ring, about 50 kms for nothing even though my membership is for my other car.
