Well i started to fix some leaks and changed some oils.
Got myself 20L of 80-90 for transfer case and diffs.
Started with the transfer case which to my surprise had about 200ml in it. Well i knew it leaked so no real surprise. Took the inspection plate off and cleaned it up checked inside and sealed it back up. As i was filling it up i found the issue and where the leak was coming from. A bolt that holds the TC to the Gearbox was missing and oil was just running out. So found a bolt that fit and a copper washer and fixed that!
Then just changed the front and rear diff oils while i was there.
Also!! I cleaned the TC and noticed a sticker saying 1.22 gear ratio? Now i was under the impression that Disco 1's ran a 1.8? Has this been changed or is a new TC? I'll crawl back under soon and see if i can find any stamped numbers or serials.

Never heard of a 1.8??
Discos are 1.2?
Defenders are 1.4
Lucky you found that missing bolt before you lost all your oil.
What did you use to reseal the inspection plate? Mine needs doing.

I didn't find the original bolt haha, i had to find one that i guessed was correct and cut it down to size and added a copper washer just in case.
Well since I"m kinda dodgy and had heaps laying around at work. I just used SILICONE ULTRA GREY MAXX AUTO 5699 95GM Ill let you know if it works as well as i hope.
EDIT: Also no idea where i got the number 1.8 in my mind. My have picked it up somewhere along the way from another vehicle. Ignore me please haha.
Also the 20L i got for like $75 from work. So ill just had it to my oil collection and at least i know i wont have to buy any more soon.
Called around to see if i could find a replacement dash cluster as my odometer has stopped working/got stuck. I have checked the cable and it works freely and i have tried to un stick the odometer but with no luck. Two places i called wanted more than $100 for the dash cluster and i dont need it fixed for that much. So ill just have to wait!
Took the Disco to my local mechanics for a minor service and a check over for roadworthy as rego is due in April. Needs a LOT of work. Oh Dear.
