Treated myself and the Disco to a set of Ironman springs. On order should be about a fortnight.

Could I ask that some one with a stock disco measure the top of their rim to the guard on each corner. I'm curious as to how my car sits as is, and how much lower than stock it is. I'll hopefully end up with 60mm of lift from a 40mm kit

My car, all measurements taken from top of rim to lowest point on guard.
    FL: 23.5cm FR 21.0cm
    RL: 26.5cm RR 24.0cm

As you can see I'm on a pretty good lean to the right and forward. A full inch difference. So hopefully I get a lot more out of a two inch lift than two inches. Does anyone have any numbers for comparison?

I dont have the measurement you want sadly. I measured mine from the ground to top of guard. Mine was also uneven until i did the lift.
    Front Left = 768mm
    Front Right = 754mm
    Rear Left = 798mm
    Rear Right = 786mm

After the lift i had the below.
    Front Left = 846
    Front Right = 845
    Back Left = 845
    Back Right = 844

A lot more even after the replacement saggy springs.

Anyway what did i do to my disco today?
Decided to check diffs as im often crossing rivers and engaging the maintenance lever.
Rear diff perfect. Right on the fill mark and clean.
Transfer a little low but thats cool. It likes to leave its mark now and gain so just a top up.
Front! OVERFULL ahhhhhhhH!!!!!! we all know what that means!!!!!!
Time to overhaul the front diff damn it.

I went out and enjoyed the first real rain of the season in Darwin and got muddy! Two days in a row, even took my GF out.

Glad I camel cut the rears, no more grinding, but I've probably waited a few contacts too late as the rear right tyre especially on the outer shoulder is pretty chewed up from its previous hits of the guard. Bummer. Oh well, when they die I'll just buy some 265/75 re treads and slap some spacers on too. Then the axles too....

Thanks for the measurements Damink, however I was avoiding ground to guard measurements as there are so many variables - tread depth, inflation levels, tyre sizes etc. I've managed to scrounge up some numbers and I believe I am 30mm low in the front and 20mm in the rear, compared to stock! So a lift will make it seem huge, i may get a 4" lift out of it.

I was a bit sagged before my lift as the measurements show.
I got over 90 mill on one wheel lift.
Although i did get heavy duty front springs (steel bullbar)

So i expect you too will get a heap of lift mate. You will love it
Look forward to the before and after pics.

    Went out wheeling today.
4 river crossings and a hill...... OH a hill!!!
Wife was in tears by the time i got to the top.
Wish i had pics to show. I will go back with a mate and do some.
Seriously steep and long. Car in low lock was struggling.
Which brought me to my next part of the day.
Decided gas was not running properly. So decided to check injectors.

Turned out my injectors were not set correctly.
And i forgot to connect the damn temp sensor on one of the rails lol!!!
Anyway running stronger than ever before now i set the injectors properly.
Not an easy task actually. Had to grind down my dial meter to test it and even then i had to do it backwards.
But job done so one of a gallilion off the list.

How much difference would you say checking the injectors made? I'm thinking of grabbing some yellow ford 4 hole injectors.

It made quite a difference to the running of the car mate.
A lot smoother now and more power.
These are the gas injectors not the fuel ones. Although the same principal applies.
I hear the 4 hole injectors are a good upgrade actually.
I still have the standard ones on the fuel rail.

Fixed the electrical side of the power window system. Next the mechanical side such as a regulator and some rollers.

Replaced the front diff, I think the rumbling might have stopped. Topped up the swivels and replaced the brake fluid.
