Whoohoo!
Had the trackrod tie rod ends replaced, and wheel alignment done too.
Got home from (no) work so thought .. what to do.
Of course! .. do the tie rod ends I was too lazy to do when I did my drag link ends.
Got home located the tie rod ends, got lazy .. so took them straight to the tyre joint I frequent.
Had them fit them while they were under the front doing the alignment!
No more hippy hippy shakes(at the least) and so far death wobbles haven't surfaced.

Looked at my D1 300tdi and wondered what to do with it???
It has a blown head gasket that is too hard for me to fix with my buggered back and I can't justify paying someone else to do the job. Just spent a fortune on rear main seal and clutch as well as a new donut.
What do I do??![]()

Sounds like I need to organise a BBQ.
It won't be until after harvest has finished cos if this rain stops interrupting everything I will be working long days 6 days a week to keep up.
I will let you know when, so you can come for a drive.![]()

Finally had the courage to stretch it's legs again after a month or so post fourth attempt at fixing the harmonic balancer.
it always seemed to free itself after a long drive.
So went out west to Avoca/Pyrenees area.
Small camping and reservoir area with a nicely made hut, called Teddington was nice bushland.
Hut was nice too, one of the better ones in Vic.
Track was easy 4WD, some 2nd low stuff.
Then back to Avoca, and across to Nowhere. Nowhere Creek to be exact, but it's also marked as Nowhere on some of my maps.
At Elmhurst, took the road to Nowhere Ck and Glenpatrick, then the Nowhere Ck road. turn at Spring Ck road, and again onto Camerons Tk. Camerons Tk was all low range uphill from there, and up to a small firebreak/safe point, that they seem to have turned into a camp site.
Not a camp spot marked on any maps. Brother found it via Wiki Camps .. and had to show me.
So went for a drive.
Finally some joy on the harmonic balancer front .. nice and tight when I got home
As for the track.
Brother did it a few weeks back, and came back via the same steep(now downhill) low range goat track.
He still refuses to use a good mapping program and relies on some silly thing called Sygic.
I use Ozi plus many good maps, and told him that 50m further north, ie. away from the natural way home, lead straight onto a series of well formed gravel highwys, leading in all manner of directions.
Now I'm not one to shy away from a nice 4WD track, but sometimes to get home at a reasonable hour common sense makes for a more comfy return leg than suffering more hard slogging.
He was kicking himself for not trying this alternate road, considering how close he was to it at the campsite .. but had he tried it, I reckon he'd have got lost anyhow.
