Traxide headlight upgrade relay location.

Decided it was time to finally fit the kit i bought from Tim some years ago now that i converted my IPF's to HID, and i'm at the stage of mounting the 2 relays.
The best location i have found is either on the inner guard near the fuse box or i make a bracket that bolts to the bracket that the fuse box mounts to and install then flat onto some alloy strap ?
This seems an ideal location after reversing the horn mount there is a nice clear space.

Works for me. The inside of the guard is a bit lumpy to mount stuff on, also had some 100mm flat bar offcut. Here's mine with the traxide dual relays, one for headlights and one for driving lights.

Thanks, yeah agree about lumpy hence the alloy strap idea.

No existing driving lights as i bought the ipf's and upgrade loom a few years ago but never got around to fitting them.

Mine have been on the inner guard same as the picture for a few years now with no issues.

Am curious to know where your going to fit them, I am looking at getting Tim's kit son, just not sure I'll have time to fit it before xmas

I used some aluminium strap and made a mount that sits between the guard and the fuse box.

It is a bit cramped but i think it fits quite well , i will bend it s bit more towards the fuse box.

Hi Damien, I use NEW ERA relays and while they are as dear as sin, they are made in Japan and they are japanese quality.

You can mount them anywhere in the engine bay and if water gets on them it just runs through and if they end up covered in mud, just hose them down, they are that rugged.
