'Popping' sounds v8 disco1 ...?? :\
Hi guys,
So i had a bad misfire before on cylinders 5 and 7... fixed it by replacing the plugs, whilst i was at it i replaced all 8 plugs.
I did have timing issue in the past, only adjusted the timing by ear, now i have this popping sound every few seconds with black smoke out of exhaust every time it pops... since putting the new plugs in.. plugs all match up with the correct codes etc
My thoughts are leading straight to timing adjustment, just after some suggestions on what else i could look at if timing isn't the answer, cheers fellas.

I have had " new plugs" faulty from new. Mainly bosch ..pull one lead a a time till you find the culprit. If you still have the old ones put an old one back and see if it's still there..if it is, could be leads..process of elimination to start with
You realy need to put a timing light on it though..and set it to 10 deg BTDC

culprit has been discovered, i feel so stupid too!
i started messing with the timing... no difference, then i started pulling leads off the dissy to see if there was any difference in the idle rate.... i got to cyl #4 lead and there was no difference, thought this was weird, traced it back to the plug.... turns out when i replaced the plugs, i accidentally swapped 2nd and 4th cylinder leads around. hence why i feel so stupid haha
thanks for the help anyway, mission accomplished!
I'll try and seek a timing light and get that issue dealt with too
