My 1996 disco strip down after coolant under pressure

Well pulled the LHs head of the 3.9.
Must say one if the faster pulls i have done(first rover).
Lets go back to the start.....
Got my ride from some guys from asia who are working as motor techs on 451 visa (nice guys) in my town.
After being on our local FB page for a month the price had fallen by half.
They where very honest about the fault . Over heating.
So i got the car for 150.00
But when i got home i looked under the privacy blind in back was a new box of stella (beer) up here they are 85.00
So I got my v8 disco for 75.00.

So i pulled the plugs seen number one spark was steam cleaned
Goggle found info on droped sleaves ..
My heart sank ( thoughts of holden 304 conversion) but found info about middle piston with steaming means bad liners.
My hopes picked up. Rang a follow member and mate (ade ade) who put me straight.
So i pulled the head tonight and good news and some work ahead .

Photo shows gasket just after head removed notice the build up infront of number one.
Bottom row of bolts where loose x4
Bolts had pulled top of threads out(time for helicoils).1423834408820.jpg
Cleaned up heads an crack tested with ndt spray1423834570707.jpg.
Test came back all good for sleaves.
    Getting happy.
Cleaned off ndt spray and seen this 1423834748800.jpg
The pitting is bad some 2-3 mm will confirm under better light.
Now forum what can i do with the deck face without pulling it out.
Did the pulled thread cause the head shift causing the pitting.
OR did the pitting cause the bolts to move.

The heads have been off ( rover stamped on head gasket they stiil look good. No damage
That i can see but it was 830 at night.
But orange sealat on intake covers(3.9 logo).
    146000km .

You could have the pitting ground out, to clean metal and have it welded (by an expert), have the decks surfaced (means engine out job.
Or you could try one of these alloy metal paste to fill the cleaned out pitting, there are some good products for this type of fix, just can't think of their bloody names, or see if someone has a good block you could use, good luck, Regards Frank.

That pitting is not in a gasket sealing area so i wouldnt worry about it.
