Just found out the problem with my coolant blow off and mild overheating is a head gasket. Block has pressure tested out as ok apparently.
My question is that the head gasket was done about 2 years or 30000km ago.
Is it usual to go again in that short time frame? What could cause that.
Some one has suggested that if it had been badly overheated at some time then both the block and heads should have been machined to match ?

Deleted. OP forgot to specify engine type...
I would say either cooling system isnt up to scratch or the heads werent checked or machined prior to replacing the head gasket.

1.Deleted. OP forgot to specify engine type... I'm not sure what that means. I think my sig says I have a V8D1.
2. You may be right about the heads possibly not being machined. The owner at the time certainly paid for that, as well as crack and pressure testing,
3, The cylinders all pressure tested as ok. Maybe not a hot test, What exactly is that?
