New metal pipes arent expensive, i would use copper. One of the hydraulic hose suppliers could repair it.

Depends which metal pipe it is. Mine were both worn through at the metal clamp on the crossmember. I replaced the high pressure one with an OEM unit as it was way cheaper than Enzed making one, but, for the return line I silver soldered a brass barb on the end of the existing metal pipe and used blue silicone hydraulic line all the way back to the reservoir. Also, with the new OEM metal line, I used a rubber insulated cable clamp in place of the original to prevent the same chafing again.
