Ive seen worse than that seal up with the metal gasket and permatex blue.
just make sure its completely free of contaminates first.
pitting i found on the casing causing the p-gasket leak,
should i have this welded then machined back, or get away with some sealant over the gasket ?

is that from corrosion? yikes. im starting to pull mine apart this weekend for the head gasket and complete cooling system overhaull. i know i have some corrosion on the threads of thermo housing. hopefully not too bad.
i need to go though my invoices. i had timing belt done last year and spoke to mechanic who did it yesterday. he said most times they do p gasket but to check the invoice as it will state it there. if it has been done i will leave it be as it is not leaking.
