Pictures !!! - part 1
OK, so "a few days" turned into "a few weeks" but belatedly here are some pictures...
Testing the trans next to the car to ensure the controller was talking to it correctly. Plus a gratuitous shot of the back of the engine with the P38A early flexplate and one of the controller hooked up and displaying the 'combined info' screen.

Pictures !!! - part 3
Showing the effects of the 15mm thicker pump housing. The pencil brace required cutting and lengthening and the dipstick tube bracket (re-used from the original 4HP22H) required reprofiling (bending).

Pictures !!! - part 4
Final installment... Pictures of trimming the length of the output shaft, chamfering, drilling and tapping. Plus one of the LT230 intermediate shaft slipped home (but not bolted up).
The back of the trans was stuffed full of clean rags, taped up, and then a cardboard box was slipped over the shaft and taped around the spline. The bearing collar from the 4HP24 was used as a cutting guide (worm band clamp behind it) and the cutting was done slowly, working around the shaft, to minimise annealing effects.
