Is it coolant coloured or just water , check your aircon drains for blockage.

Hey folks,
I have wet floors under the sound proofing rubber mats on both the left and right front floors. The carpet on top is pristine and dry.
I was under the impression that the heater core is the most likely suspect - but that is only on the left side? The two hot water pipes from the engine bay go into the firewall on the right hand side - so perhaps they are leaking as well as the heater core?! Just my luck!
I haven't done any water crossings either - so it shouldn't be water getting in from the outside...
Any thoughts?
Thanks

I had exactly the same issue. After I removed the sodden mess I found two rust holes in the floor. Passengers side was worse, I just neutralised the rust with converter and screwed aluminium 3mm plates over the holes after sealing with Sikaflex. No carpets in my Disco now and has remained dry since. BTW my heater has never worked.....core is bypassed. Floor gets warm though on a longish drive!![]()

Apart from heater core leaks, blocked A/C Drain holes, another culprit is the rubber seal at the plenum where the wiper motors sit, on /Aus models the passenger side one is blocked off *( this is where the Lefthand drive versions would have the motor fitted) Seal with silicon around the lip, If water pools up enough it seeps in to the seal and into the cabin .
Cheers, Mario
And compliments of Bradtot on here, it can also be your door rubbers being shot - I've just replaced mine and seems to help, but I haven't got to the a/c drains yet.

I have tried and tried to fix my leak found so many causes, fixed each one and it still leaks,
I'm on the verge of putting to garden hose in the window and see where it comes out.
I've cut out the underlay under our feet and pulled the rubber Bung to let it out at present
Thanks for the replies guys.
I don't use my A/C because i live where it is raining all the time and a maximum of 10 degrees all year! Are the aircon drains just where condensation drains from the system during use?
I am thinking it might be a leak at the bottom of where the windscreen goes - in that drain at the back of the bonnet. Is that a likely spot?
Whilst inside the vehicke pull off the finishers on the A pillar - the plastic bits that house the tweeters. Now look up into the upper inside corners of your windscreen. If there is any rust there then that is your culprit. If you have had a windscreen replaced the fitters scratch the paint off on the upper windscreen seat and rust eats through very quickly.
Alternatively, if you have had a screen change then they did not seal it very well.I had one where the windscreen sealant was not touching the glass for 5mm and at least a cm of water would flood the passenger footwell.
Best to get a spray bottle and colour it with food dye of your choice - then spray across the top seal. You will easily see it track inside the windscreen.

Spent months stopping mine from leaking. It was coming through the top of the windscreen, fixed with sikaflex. It was also coming in on both sides through a bolt inside the pillar near your knees when sitting. Fixed this one by removing the light switch that is operated by opening /closing the door and spraying fish oil in through the hole. Did this numerous times and it stopped the leak. Hasn't leaked for a couple of years but removed the underlay just in case.
When I first bought mine it had a leak passengers' side. Was bout to check heater core but noticed carpet was wet whenever it rained. When i painted the roof i also changed all the front windscreen seals and hasn't leaked since. Touch wood.
