    Changing engine oil sump gasket 93 v8 discovery

    Can someone please give me some instructions on changing the oil sump gasket please.

    My 91RRC did not have a gasket specified.
    All you do is is get a tube of grey sealant and place a bead on the sump then fit and follow instructions. I used the pressure pack stuff which worked well.
    Mine held oil well.

    So pretty simple removing the sump etc?

    AFAIR you just jack up under the chassis so that the axle is at max droop , and make sure it is well supported, and you undo the bolts.

    AFAIR again ,you have to be careful to seal around where the timing case meets the sump although I have removed the timing case without removing the sump and it sealed up OK.

    Drain the engine oil before removing the sump retaining bolts...
