should be a 3.5. Is "3.9" cast into the alloy intake on top of the engine ??

if original, the pre face lift did not have anything (engine size) on the alloy intake and the engine should be a 3.5lt. The face model (late 93 on, IIRC) was fitted with the 3.9 and had this (3.9) on the intake.

Even so would the trans lines be different? Also I have the trans cooler behind the grill doesn't run through the radiator. If that helps

Being a diesel guy... and these are all old long suppressed memories

if fitted the flow for the engine oil cooler on the v8 comes out from the filter block assembly and returns to the engine block, The flow to the cooler is part flow of the excess oil out of the pressure relief valve.

    for the auto...

If memory serves the return line is the lower of the 2 for when the TC is unlocked and the flow reverses when its locked. I have always considered that the easiest "best" place to put an oil temp sensor for the ZF is in the drain plug with my opinion of the best place being a welded in socket on the back face of the pan where it is well protected and you can conveniently loop the harness up to the speedo and Tcase warning light switching harness.

Obviously you get that done while its off for a service and filter change, preferably while you get the 24 front end put in.

Or just write it off as too much effort and put the manual in. :P
