One of my D1s started life as a 5 seater and has had the 6/7 seats fitted. It was as simple as fitting all the factory bits and getting the relevant engineer to confirm and fit the mod plate.

A mate is looking to buy an early Disco.
Ideally Tdi, 7-seats & manual (and also cheap ?). At a push he'd go V8 but his heart is set on a Tdi.
He's found a 5-seater and wanted to know how easy it is to add the additional seats.
I guess (but stand to be corrected) if he could get the required parts from someone wrecking a 7-seater it would make the 'engineering' fairly straightforward.
Is that correct ? Or should he be looking for a 7-seater ?

Seats and brackets with belts is all you need , of you get the trim it will make it neater but easy to make the required holes in yours.

I have a 7 seater and am thinking about possibly sacrificing a seat for the extra storage space. If your mate ends up buying one I can do a swap with him!
