Thread: pto for a r380.

    pto for a r380.

    giday lads and lasses.

    I got a 300tdi disco right. and It has a r380 box in it. I am wondering weather a pto output is made for them as I have aspirations of driving a compressor and or winch on it.

    The gear box makes no difference. It's the transfer box. It will have a LT230. Yes you can get a pto for it. The hard part is getting the input gear with the dog clutch teeth on it. The one fitted may have them.

    I have a PTO on my 230....should I say need to fit it to my new rig.

    Finding the original chain driven drive will be a challenge......

    The are PTO hydraulic pumps available which you could use for a winch.

    If you want heaps of air I would install an endless air in the engine bay before a PTO driven air compressor.

    They don't unfortunately. Even when you order a gear by part number you can't guarantee you will get one with teeth. Cheaper to manufacture I suppose.
