And wow. April 91. That makes it 2 months older than mine was.... Can't be that many of them around. Until now, I thought mine was the only one
Not exactly sure, but it could be a bearing related to the reverse gearing.
Sounds like some 'expert' has had a go at fixing some electrics, and buggered something up.
Normally, the only way to get the AC to actually come on is the other way around.
That is, AC snowflake set to on, and fan position determines if it's on or not.
For it to work the way yours does, sounds like something isn't right.
Yer the reverse selection is to the left
Im going to have to pull the wireing appart i think have checked all fues and everythings fine there
I was thinking a bearing the noise is tollorable becouse its only revese that dose it
Oh and if i use any other setting then the snow flake aka recycled air outside air or anything like that the inside blower fan will not switch on even if its set to the snow flake with fan on full rip go to change the setting to anything other then the snow flake fan shuts off and dose nothing
Would i be right in guessing that the ac compressor isent ingaugeing when set corectly on the dash is becouse low/no gas in the system?
I havent' been so lucky with my cars(with A/C).
Almost all of them that haven't worked have been dud compressors, or something else.
Some times the electric/magnetic clutch can play up. No idea on how reliable they are, only one I had trouble with was on an EF Falcon I once had.
You could get someone to have a look at it and advise of the condition of the system before you do anything else. So at the least it'll need a regas if it aint coming on at the moment.
I've done that a few times, paid the $50 for the call out fee and it turns out a gassing would only just add to that cost(but not work for long as the compressor is usually knackered) so cut my losses there .... and either fix it, or not.
Oh by the way anyone know the specker wire coloring in these models i know the facelift colors but the sterio that was in it got cut out so i have no guide
