It's actually good for 10,000klm, total waste of oil changing at 5000klm, unless you are in Really adverse conditions and working the guts out of it, never done an oil change under 10K and I use my 300TDi for HD towing, (went over weighbridge yesterday at 4.77T all up), have over 500,000klm on it now, no problems, modern oils don't require low klm change outs, Oils ain't Oils, Regards Frank.

Agreed, although learning to drive COULD be considered really adverse!
I got into the habit of 5000km changes on the Deafener because it wasn't getting as much use at it once did.
