Pushrod and Valve Clearances
i'm due for a service in next few days and had a question. when i replaced the head i removed the pushrods obviously and kept them in the right order. what is the purpose of this? i have a new set of rods which i will probably replace and the workshop manual says if any bent or worn replace. so if i have a new set of rods can i replace all of them and not worry about other components? or do i need whole new set of rocker arms, lash caps etc. do you only keep them in order if you put back the old ones? so that the wear and tear matches the other components? can i just put in new rods and re-do clearances?

pushrod are kept in order as they're worn into a set of lifters. personally i wouldnt bother replacing them unless as said theyre bent or damaged any wear can be taken up in rocker gear when you the clearance.
I would just replace the valve caps. and adjust to proper clearance.
