    New Headlining in Adelaide

After 21 years the headlining in my V8 was beginning to sag quite badly. I don't have time right now with work to do it myself so I entrusted the job to Spencer Motor Trimmers at Hampstead. They have done other trim jobs for me on my Minis in the past and have always provided excellent service.

Once again they did a superb job. Dropped the Disco off at 8 am picked it up at 4 pm with a brand new headling fitted in place that matches the colour of the old once exactly. Cost was $450 which was quite reasonable I thought, as a couple of others I asked about it were quoting $600+ "due to the size of the vehicle".

Spencer said they do about 300 headlining replacements a year, and have done lots of Land Rovers.

    299 of them Land Rovers!

I've had quite a few Rovers(cars) and my one and only RRC back in the day.
The P6 Rovers all had a vinyl type headlining and never gave trouble.
All 6 SD1s I've had all dropped their headlinings and my RRC slowly turned into a harem, no matter how many tacks I used.
My D1 was purchased with it's already pinned headlining, and I'll renew it one day too. I'm usually too lazy to do annoying jobs like that, and I hate the fibreglass backing material when it rubs and creates it's fine dust and gets down your neck and back and front and ... two showers in succession required to stop the itching!
My brothers D2 already had a new headlining fitted at some point prior to his purchase, and my(up and coming) D2 also had a new headlining fitted not too long ago too. You can see that they're basically new.
The D2 parts car I got a short while ago is about the only fabric Rover headlining that I've seen that hasn't been recently done, or needs doing!
One of the strangest things I've ever seen, and confused me no end as to what's wrong with it!(unless it was done 17 years ago to a factory finish).

Just one of those things in life about Rover fabric headlinings that need to be accepted ... it's going to need doing properly if it hasn't already been done
    Arthur.

All these discos are giving me a heart attack!
