Sure. If it won't move in park then it ain't the TC. The autos have a habit of ditching the A clutch pack, well they do on D2s, and there isn't a whole lot of difference. Hope that isn't it.
Just a quick one, when you engage the CDL does the light come on? Might not make sense, and Bee Utey knows more than me here, but I'm wondering if the CDL mechanism ( lever etc. ) might have come loose or something stupid like that. I've never heard of it, and I'm not even sure if it can, but hey....
Look in the morning.

If the transfer case is in either high or low and the handbrake is off, then no rolling in park means that the transfer case is probably functional. Centre diff lock on/off won't affect anything unless you've broken something in a differential and have a spinning driveshaft either at the front or back end in drive. From memory the CDL light won't come on until the car has moved enough to let the dog clutch engage.
Cheers, it sounds like that perhaps the high/low gearbox is stuck in neutral, regardless of whether I put it in high or low range it sounds like it's in the neutral position, could this potentially be linkages or however it connects to the transfer case? Regardless when I get it over to MR they'll have the transfer case out to have a look.
The transfer case can't be stuck in neutral if selecting park on the auto shifter stops the vehicle. Park works on the back of the transmission and requires the transfer case to be engaged to work.
Back to square one then hey? Ill probably leave it now till MR sorts it out next Friday. Not sure if there is much more checking I can do?
So because the disco has been keeping me up at night (the $$$$ that could be sent soon are making me feel a bit ill) I've done a bit of reading and as an earlier contributor mentioned it could be the A clutch, has this happened to anyone before?
Im going to see if the disco reverses tomorrow afternoon (ive got work up till 3) this hopefully should tell me whether it's the transmission which is the problem. This link from paddocks has some stuff on that.

I can currently get a used auto transmission for $850 off gumtree so that would likely be the route if that's the issue. I'm guessing this is gonna start getting very expensive if that's the case however because of the hours involved in a transmission swap. Thoughts?
Checked this arvo, no drive in reverse too, perhaps a bit of good news there.
