Awesome, definitely some food for thought there, as usual when I come up to these exciting jobs a mechanical problem has jumped out, my timing is out (something's not right in the timing case) so I'll probably be waiting till the 7th of October to get my hands dirty with these sensors (that Tcase sump looked the business too, I'm guessing by having it it allows greater cooling). I'll put my questions in this thread when i inevitabably have them in about two weeks!

Supposedly. Allows for about 900ml more oil and has cooling fins. I only have oil temperature measurements from after i put it on though. Have never seen info anywhere where before and after temps have been measured.

As a bonus though, it gives you a flat surface to put a jack under if you ever need to pull it out.

    Extended sump

So just to clarify, it has a pre tapped 1/8 not thread (that seems the standard size for temp sensors)? Also where did you get yours from, I see 4wd industries have some avaliable for $165

I don't think it's 1/8 NPT. (but don't quote me on this, maybe someone actually knows, but mine was fitted by 4WDInd when they did my transfer box .. so I haven't checked it)

If you look at their website, they also have a sump + sensor and gauge kit.
One of the parts is an adapter that looks a lot like an M(??) to NPT type probe fitting. The probe they have in the image seems to be a longer sensor type(such as a VDO 320.012, but they state a Global Roamer gauge
I'd say that the adapter looks close to an M10 to 1/8NPT, but this is only a guess and it could easily be an M12 to 1/8NPT.

Ill have a look for you when I'm better. Sick at the moment and raining outside so not too keen. I think mine has adapter though. So won't be 1/8 npt

    Coolant temp sensor

Hey guys, just going over the placement before i get started soon and just wondering if anyone has placed a sensor around the same height as the water pump, ive heard about that being possible on some other threads but thought id check with those that have done it?
