    No way!

A welding course and do it as a project would easily cover it..
Plenty of designs etc to be looked at online...

Take the original bar off, make a template and off you go..

    I made a D1 Bar and a D2 bar in a shed.

Just need to look at bracing and build accordingly.

You can even buy a swing away kit from Rijidij and have all the parts ready to weld onto your bar...

That is a great looking rear bar
Expecting a novice welder/fabricator to manufacture something like that from scratch in a car park without to use of a workshop and associated tools is still a huge call.

That looks fantastic!! Tell you what, I can't say I'd mind having a welding course under my belt, I'm sure that'd come in handy at some point.

I agree and getting some practice on some scrap metal and small projects will help you hone your new welding skills.
Once you have built up your skills and have gained some confidence in them Then you can tackle a job like building your own rear bar and you will then know what extra resources you will need to do the job as well

or you could leave the original bar on and not add extra unnecessary weight to your car. they are heavy enough as it is. keep a spare where the spare is, keep a tyre carcass on the roof or the back, keep jerries inside or roof. that's only if you plan to go on expeditions. if you are just doing camping trips etc. then even less reason to get a rear bar.

i was like you. wanted all this stuff to put on the car and turn it into an under powered armored vehicle. but end of the day. would never have used most the stuff because i don't do hardcore 4wding, i don't do long expeditions and i go camping or exploring occasionally. my disco as it is now is perfect for that. i use my money for it on things which are necessary. trust me, you never run out of things to do on it.
