True. I was going to go for one but its more of a sender than a switch so requires a bit of circuitry to trigger the alarm. It does have that factory look which is appealing.
All things considered I decided the float switch was the sensible choice. Installs down low out of the way/sight, simple, cheaper to put together and I guess it would be cheaper to replace the standard expansion cap when it starts to loose its hold.

This is the low coolant alarm that I have fitted to my D2a.
The buzzer unit is inside my drop down cover under the steering wheel and it beeps 3-4 times on startup to let me know that it is working.
The probes are fitted in the side of the expansion tank a couple of inches below the coolant level.
