    98 D1 V8 - is there a diff lock light on the dash?

    Would/should my 98 D1 have a difflock light on the dash that illuminates when difflock is engaged? (Ie like the D2 has)

    Yes! There is one it is green, two axles with a shaft joining then.
    Can't remember it's exact location off the top of my head.

    Someone else will be able to tell you that.

    Probably has never been used... try jacking up a front wheel and engaging difflock with the lever and rotating wheel until it locks. Then check the light.
    The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
    The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

    Didn't all the D1's have CDL then they dropped it for the first lot of D2's then brought it back for the D2a's ?

    Pretty much, Mr trout. The light in the D1 is amber, in the D2 it is red IIRC. Funny they left all the gubbins in the early ones. My 2000 one just needed the lever and stuff. If you get under and select it manually with a spanner the light comes on. LR have had some strange periods.
