yep. It can look like oil after running down the side of the block accumulating old oil and dirt..but even in the pic it looks to 'thin' to be oil.
get a new one from Mario. He doesnt sell rubbish.
At least if that is what it is it is a cheap, if a bit fiddly, fix.

Back of rocker cover can leak and come down to bellhousing like yours and very hard to detect. Mine does that.

Check the easy/usuals first. Oil filter seal, and leaking/damaged oil lines.

If fuel, check fuel lines and filters.

Process of elimination will lead you to the cause.

We the OEM pump was faulty causing the leak, it was leaking from the lever pin , evident when I crawled under neath with a torch. so we have replaced the part under warranty. Angus and I fitted a Delphi pump instead so all should be good now.
    Cheers, Mario

Get a few cans of that cheap degreaser from supercheap and give the entire engine top to bottom a very good clean to remove ALL the oil/fuel/gunk deposits , Use some clean rags to remove any muck that wasn't removed by the degreaser then run the engine and look underneath to see "Exactly" where the leak is coming from.
This will eliminate the "Guesswork" and you will know "Exactly" where the problem lies

Like Mario has already said it was leaking oil from the base of the priming lever, no oil in this photo but it sure was coming from there. He helped me put the new one on and didn't even need to prime it just fired her up and away she went. Drove five minutes to my sister's place and didn't conk out and no more oil leaks so looks like that was the culprit.

Thanks Mario, fantastic bloke and stands by his products all the way, even helped me change it over and Heather made me a cuppa so all round just a lovely way to spend a Wednesday morning in the hills.

I'll have a good look after the longer drive home but we are pretty certain that was it.

I'm guessing the new pump's priming lever doesn't flap about wildly either?

.. and has it helped to solve the rattly/vibration noise too?

The Delphi pump we used to replace the OEM one has a spring that holds the lever see pic. The O.E.M ones don't have the same arrangement.

More of a dalek looking shape compared to what I remember Ben had, when we noticed it leaking.
