There is a big hex nut on the auto trans oil line where the factory temperature (overheat) sensor is just behind the bottom of radiator on the PS. I was a bit lazy and just attached the thermo-couple to the Hex nut with epoxy. I have been meaning to improve that connection as it is probably not very responsive due to the possibly poor thermal characteristics of the epoxy. But I have got used to what is 'normal' and it does go up and down quite quickly in changing conditions so I think it is ok for purpose. I have the TM4 alarm set at 100 and it has never gone off since I had a bigger oil cooler fitted when the trans was replaced with a reco unit about 70000km ago.
